To save space, most laptop manufacturers have slowly, but steadily cut down from the once large number of USB ports down to two or three ports that you can use to connect your peripherals. Unfortunately, not all laptops or even Desktop computers come with a lot of USB 3.0 ports and some may still keep the USB 2.0 standard, which will deprive the users from a better transfer speed, with maybe one or two USB 3.0 ports.

So, the people that need more USB ports on their devices and want to take advantage of the newer USB 3.0 standard are constrained to use external USB hubs, these devices being available in different shapes and sizes, with various number of ports and it may prove to be a challenge to choose the most suitable one for their needs. QICENT USB 3.0 hub is a small rectangular device, with soft rounded corners, covered by a black matte finish on top and lateral sides (QICENT used a rubber process oil which makes the device feel comfortable and soft). It can also be plugged into a USB 2.0 slot but the data speed rate will slow to USB 2.0 transfer rates. USB 3.0 has a data rate transfer speed of 5Gbps (640MBps), ten times faster than the USB 2.0 maximum. This is good for anyone who has a lot of data that needs to be transferred quickly.

Technical
The 7 port USB Hub is made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) Engineering Plastic ensuring greater impact resistance, strength, and stiffness. The output interface uses 7 USB3.0 ports with a theoretical transfer rate of 5Gigabytes per second for each and is backwards compatible with USB2.0 and USB 1.1. The input interface supports USB3.0 A male and is compatible with Micro USB2.0 and 1.1. The VL812 chipset delivers over-current, overload, over-voltage protection and the 3.3Ft USB power cord avoids power shortages.

Design
The unit is mini & compact measuring 187 mm in length; 32 mm in width and 23mm in height. It is packaged in a white box with PVC heat shrinking film.

Additional Notes
This hub is not a charger. Some USB3.0 devices require direction connection to host ports. 2.4Ghz wireless devices such as keyboard / mouse receivers, bluetooth and WiFi adapters may not work around USB3.0 ports. Try to use a USB2.0 connection.
